Boxley Parish Council

Boxley Parish Council serves the communities of Boxley, Sandling, Boarley, Forstal, Weavering, Grove Green and the southern parts of Lordswood and Walderslade.

Boxley Parish is the largest parish in the borough of Maidstone with around 10,000 residents.

Please note, new dates have been agreed for these works. Start date is 28th March 2026, with estimated completion by 29th March 2026, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 only.

National Highways - Temporary Road Closure - Newnham Court Roundabout To M20 Junction 7 Roundabout, Maidstone -13th October 2025 (Maidstone District)

Due to works planned to be undertaken by National Highways, it will be necessary to close part of Newnham Court Roundabout To Junction 7 Roundabout, Maidstone, from 13th October 2025 with estimated completion by 25th October 2025.

Newnham Court Roundabout To Junction 7 Roundabout, Maidstone, will be closed on the A249 northbound carriageway to M20 Junction 7, London Bound on Slip, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 Monday to Friday nights only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Newnham Court Roundabout, A249 Bearsted Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Albion Place, A249 Andrew Broughton Way, A249 Ashford Road, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A249 Mote Road, A249 Knightrider Street, A229 Mill Street, A229 Bishops Way, A229 Fairmeadow, A229 Royal Engineers Road, A229 Chatham Road, A229 Blue Bell Hill, A229 Maidstone Road, Tiger Moth Roundabout, A229 Maidstone Road, Horsted Roundabout, A229 City Way, City Way Roundabout, A2 New Road, A2 New Road Avenue, A2 New Road, Luton Arches Roundabout, A2 Chatham Hill, A2 Rainham Road, A2 Watling Street, Will Adams Roundabout, A2 Watling Street, Bowaters Roundabout, A2 London Road, A2 High Street, A2 Moor Street, A2 London Road, A2 Hartlip Hill, A2 London Road, A2 High Street, A2 Boyces Hill, A2 Keycol Hill, Key Street Roundabout, Key Street Slip Southbound On, A249 Maidstone Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Hill and A249 Sittingbourne Road.

Due to works planned to be undertaken by Southern Water, it will be necessary to close part of Lidsing Road, Lidsing, from 9th March 2026 with estimated completion by 13th March 2026.

Lidsing Road, Lidsing, will be closed in the vicinity of property named Abbeygail. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lidsing Road, Dunn Street, Dunn Street Road, Chapel Lane, Forge Lane, Lidsing Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow water main repairs to be carried out, works are undertaken by Southern Water.
