Thank you for taking the local priority survey recently, we note
that you highlighted Anti-social behaviour - general
in the survey so we wanted to provide you with an update on this local
matter.
We’d like to inform residents that local Town Police and OneMaidstone
Ambassadors recently responded swiftly to reports of three youths found on
a rooftop in Maidstone town centre. This kind of behaviour not only poses
serious safety risks to those involved but also causes concern for the
wider community.
Thanks to strong local knowledge and vigilance, officers were able to
intervene promptly. One of the individuals has been issued with a Community
Protection Warning (CPW)- a clear signal that anti-social behaviour will
not be tolerated in our district.
This incident highlights the importance of robust, proactive policing and
the value of community intelligence. By working together- residents,
businesses, and enforcement teams- we can continue to make Maidstone a
safer place for everyone.
We encourage anyone witnessing suspicious or unsafe behaviour to report it.
Your information helps us act quickly and effectively.
Let’s keep our town safe, together.

Tackling antisocial behaviour can be a complex issue, and one which
requires input and action from more than just the police.
The
Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 aims to put victims
first, giving power to local people and enabling professionals to find the
best solutions for their local area.
The act provides the police, local authorities and other local agencies
with flexible tools and powers that they can use to respond quickly and
effectively to antisocial behaviour.
These include:
- civil injunctions.
- criminal behaviour
orders.
- public spaces
protection orders.
- community protection
notices.
- dispersal powers.
- closure powers.
The act also includes measures such as the Community Remedy and
antisocial behaviour case reviews which empower victims and communities to
have a say in the outcome of their reports and hold agencies to account.
