Statement from The Chair of Boxley Parish Council

"It is with great sadness that I find myself writing about the death of our Queen Elizabeth II.

As our longest serving monarch, her remarkable reign has lasted, for most people, our entire lives and we know nothing else. Throughout those seven decades, she has been a rock of strength for our nation, the Commonwealth and the World.

There can simply be no finer example of dignified public duty and service and we all owe our sincere gratitude for her continued devotion. Her dedication to our country has been incomparable and, as such, she leaves an enduring legacy.

In Boxley parish, we are opening a Book of Condolence at Beechen Hall for you to write personal comments on the life of our beloved Monarch who reigned for over seventy years.

The end of the second Elizabethan era and we now look forward to the reign of King Charles III."
